JAV Hall of Fame

Rules

A Hall of Fame is nothing without a set of guiding principles. Here are the rules we will be using for our Hall of Fame.

1. First Year

As there are many, many actresses we've decided to backfill the Hall of Fame. We will start it 10 years ago and build up the members of the Hall of Fame. Starting with a vote for the 2016 class, we will slowly build up the hall over time going through every year's ballot until we get to the present year.

2. The Modern Era

The Hall of Fame only considers actresses who were active at some point during the modern era. The modern era is defined to start from 2006 forward which means any actress eligible for the Hall of Fame must have worked in the industry as an actress from 2006 onward.

• This is done ensure that there is a level playing field as the landscape of the JAV industry has changed significantly since it first began
• 2006 is our approximation for both when DVDs were mainstream and the primary method of viewing content as well as when studios had regularly scheduled monthly releases

3. Eligibility

• An actress is eligible 10 years after their debut. Thus, the inaugural 2016 ballot can contain actresses who both:
• Debuted in 2006 or prior to then
• Have released a film in the modern era, aka 2006 or newer
• An actress must have 12 standard JAV releases in 12 different calendar months to qualify
• Standard JAV release is defined as a non-IV, non-VR release for any studio that has official ethics approval
• Actresses otherwise retain eligibility indefinitely

4. Voting Committee

The voting committee will consist of several members of the JAV community. This includes:

• Various staff of ZENRA including myself
• Various friends that I have in the JAV community who have been hand selected

5. Voting

• Each member will receive 10 votes for each voting period
• Each member may use any number of their votes, including just one if they so wish
• Each actress can appear at most once on a ballot
• Each member will cast their ballots privately

6. Induction Criteria

• Each actress must receive a minimum of 70% of the vote to be eligible to be inducted
• Only five actresses per year may be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
• In the scenario that a tie occurs that puts the number of inductees to more than five, all tied members will be inducted

7. Awards Ceremony

All members of the JAV Hall of Fame will be inducted in a special blog post.
